Clinical PsychologistMythili Hazarika has more than 20 year experience in mental health care and services under the Health and Family Welfare, Government of Assam. Having an MPhil degree in Clinical Psychology from NIMHANS, Bengaluru first from the state of Assam she could create a niche in mental health in this part of the country. Having a PhD degree from Guwahati University and Post- Doctoral training in Epidemiology and Public Health from the University of Florida, USA adds on to her skills and expertise essentially required in mental health. She has professional memberships in more than 20 organizations special mention: State Mental Health Authority since more than 10 years , Autism Board of Assam , Boards Rights of Persons with Disability (RPWD) Act, Tobacco Cessation Board and associated with various forums either as a guest lecturer or in the editorial boards/review boards of various scientific journals (to mention a few are FRONTIERs, OJPAS) . She is the nominated clinical psychologist in the Central Mental Health Authority (CMHA). She was the first to develop the Best practice guidelines for tele-psychology during disasters (COVID-19 pandemic) in April 2020. She have had led the mental health task force called “ MONON” in tele-psychological counselling in the state of Assam for people suffering from COVID-19 since June 2020 for which the World health Organization (WHO) had recognized her contribution.
